Mr. Mazzie started his Loss Prevention and Security career with Kmart while attending Salem State College full time. Upon graduation with a BS in Criminal Justice Mr. Mazzie worked for various specialty retailers as a Loss Prevention Investigator. During the course of his 22 years in Loss Prevention, he conducted numerous investigations that involved both the detection and prosecution of individuals responsible for theft. These investigations involved local law enforcement agencies as well as State and Federal authorities. Organized Retail Crime (ORC) was just starting to be recognized by authorities in which cases were developed and prosecuted that substantiated the need for enhanced communication with both retailers and law enforcement. The end result of these types of investigations have lead to numerous local police departments to form ORC task forces in jurisdictions that have a heavy concentration of shopping malls. Throughout Mr. Mazzie’s career, he has been involved in all aspects of Retail Loss Prevention including internal and undercover investigations, the utilization of CCTV and numerous surveillance techniques. Loss Prevention functions also included the developing of operational audits, employee awareness and training programs that would assist store management in identifying and reporting theft related incidents. From an interview and investigative standpoint, Mr. Mazzie has certifications in Reid Interviewing and Interrogation Techniques as well as Wicklander and Zulawski.
Mr. Mazzie was also responsible for the physical security of the stores as well as distribution centers. This involved CCTV design and installations, Inventory Control Procedures, EAS Systems, Lock and Hardware, Card Access as well as Contract Guard Services.
In 2004, Mr. Mazzie left the retail industry to start the New England Office for RSIG Security. As Vice President of RSIG Security, Mr. Mazzie continued to work with national retailers as well as residential and commercial properties assisting them with security services, which included uniformed security officers, UC investigations and CCTV products, and services. RSIG Security grew from a basement operation in Ashland MA to a national company operating in several states and employing over 1000 security officers, investigators, and executive protection personnel.
Today RSIG is owned and operated by Mr. Mazzie and its client base includes many fortune 500 companies in both retail and private industries. Several divisions of the company were established to provide specific services for many of today’s clients. These divisions include Investigative Services, Residential and Commercial Property Protection, Event and Tour Services, Arena and Facility Management Services, Retail Services, Executive Protective Services. RSIG also has an established 24/7 call and dispatch center that offers a full range of security services throughout the US and Canada.
Scott Saia's security background encompass's contract guard services, investigations, executive protection, special event security, anti-piracy, and security consulting.
Mr. Saia began his security career in 1993, working as a security officer at the "old" Boston Garden and within weeks was promoted to command supervisor. Shortly thereafter Mr. Saia went to work for the Lyons Group and Troy/Foster Enterprises where he was responsible for security operations for various clubs and events. Eventually, it lead to a Mr. Saia providing executive protection for a number of local Boston based bands as part of their security detail.
Having extensive training in event security, Mr. Saia went on to work at Gillette Stadium, spearheading the emergency response teams and responsible for training and implementing the numerous security initiatives over the course of 6 years.
In 2005, Mr. Saia joined RSIG Security as the event manager and eventually was promoted to Vice President of Event Security. Mr. Saia has been responsible for directing and implementing security for various major events in the Boston area including: all events being hosted at Boston University's Agganis Arena; the NBA Hall of Fame Inductions, numerous major film productions, Champions Cup Tennis, and the NBA Finals Fan Zone.
Mr. Saia has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Music Business Management from Berklee College of Music.
